Frequently Asked Questions
What's it like working with us?
We like to get to know our clients. By the time we get to your wedding day you should feel like we're a familiar presence, not just strangers orbiting you with cameras. We're here for you while you're planning your wedding, when things get a little overwhelming we're happy to take your call.
Do you travel?
We love to travel! Traveling is how we met, and it's part of who we are. Doesn't matter where in the world you are, if you want us, we want to be there! The cost that comes with the travel is varied depending on the location. If you'd like to learn more about this you can visit our pricing page here to fill out an inquiry form.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use a variety of equipment when covering your wedding day. We shoot on Canon Professional Full Frame DSLRs using Canon L Series Lenses. We also utilise a number of additional tools including, but not limited to: studio lighting, DJI gimbals and drones, Atomos monitors, Manfrotto legs, and Tascam microphones.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
It depends on the couple really. Some people prefer to do a first look while others will really focus on their first dance photos. It's different for everyone. Our goal is to deliver photos to you that look like your wedding, not just any wedding.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Don't be afraid of the rain. There's a lot of romance in it. Never underestimate the romantic power of a rainy day portrait under an umbrella.
We want some really dramatic portraits, how are those accomplished?
The most important thing we can say is plan for them. If you're getting married somewhere with an amazing view, or there's just something really special you have in mind we're all for it! But it does take time. We're not talking your whole day by any means - just that we should consult on how much time will be needed for what you want accomplished with your portraits.
Do you have insurance?
Yup! We're fully covered and happy to provide proof of this if your venue needs it.
Do we give you a shot list?
Part of what our clients value most about us is our innate ability to document the day in an organic way. We make sure we cover all the standard shots and if there's something really special you're hoping to achieve we work with you leading up to your wedding to make sure we've organised that. If you're planning for a large number of family photos a shot list with the names of family members as well as either a member of the wedding party or a family member to help identify them is definitely helpful. Between the two of us we have a combined 15 years of wedding photography and 20 years of photography experience.
Do you cover elopements, small weddings, or registry weddings?
Yes! We love covering intimate weddings. Just because a wedding is smaller doesn't mean it doesn't deserve great photos and videos! You'll see some examples of weddings like this that we've shot on the photography and video pages.
How many photos do you deliver after a wedding?
This is going to vary based on how many hours of coverage you have on your day. For smaller weddings (usually around 3 hours) we deliver an average of 250 photos. For longer days our average exceeds 650. Full day weddings can expect 1000+ photos.
We carefully curate your day to tell the story of it. With that in mind know that we select each photo deliberately to help us tell the story of you.
How long should we expect to wait for our photos and/or videos?
We know your wedding day can feel like a wonderful blur the next morning and it can be hard to remember everything. Within the first 48-72 hours of your wedding you will get a sneak peek at your wedding photos from us. We'll send at least 20 photos to you via your gallery so you have something to see straight away. For the rest of your photos depending on the size of your wedding, the hours covered, and the package we settled on it can take up to 8-12 weeks for full delivery. We make sure we give your photos and videos the attention they deserve and we spend time with each image individually.
Have you photographed our venue before?
We've shot a wide variety of venues, but even if we haven't shot yours before that's not a bad thing! We love new spaces, and we make sure to do our homework on venues before going to a new space.
How are the photos and videos delivered?
All of our photo packages come with: an online gallery that can be shared with your friends and family, a mobile app with your favourite shots from your wedding day, a USB flash drive with all the final images, a print release, and online print ordering options to order from our fine art print selection. Videos are delivered digitally by way of YouTube links to share and a download link. We also provide the final videos and the raw footage on a USB flash drive.
What about social media? Is it ok to post our photos and videos?
We love when our clients share their photos! Please just make sure you credit Amoureux Weddings when you do and please do not to alter the images (that's part of what you paid us for!).
Do you give us the raw footage of our video?
The short answer is, kind of. Depending on the package you book with us there’s the option to get the raw footage of the speeches and the ceremony cut together as single files with the audio captured by one of our mics. However generally we don’t give out the raw footage. If your package includes one of the longer film options you’ll find that everything worth seeing is in that film.
We weren't sure we wanted to order prints or an album but now we want them! Do you offer these?
We sure do! We offer a variety of album options. All of our books are printed on archival paper with archival inks. They're beautifully crafted fine art books and each one is made to order. Options include leather binding, lay flat, linen, and more. All of our prints are also printed on archival paper with archival inks. They're beautiful fine art prints made to last a lifetime.
We're ready to order our album! How long does it take?
Once you're ready to order your album we have a short form for you to fill out to help us get started on your layout. We want to make sure we tell the best story we can for you in the book which means the layouts take a bit of time. You can expect to see your layout 10-14 working days after your form is submitted. From there we work together to tweak the album to your liking to make sure it's perfect. Once we get your approved layout finalised there's a 5-7 working day window where we submit your order based on our shoot calendar (i.e. if you send us an approval on a layout during a weekend we're on a wedding shoot it'll be ordered the following week). Once your album is submitted to the printer we use they give us a window that's usually up to 10-14 working days for dispatch. Then it's all yours!
We're ready to book! What happens next?
That's the best kind of news! It means a lot to us when we click with a couple. Your date is confirmed once your contract is signed and a 35% non refundable deposit is paid. The balance is due 30 calendar days prior to your wedding date. If there are travel fees involved they're due at the time of booking as well so we can go ahead and book the travel at the rate we've quoted you. We can't wait to take part in your special day!
